New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) Food inflation rose to 9.13 per cent for the week ended June 11, as compared to 8.96 per cent during the previous week, on account of increase in the prices of milk and protein based-item such as egg, meat and fish, according to official data released here today.
However, the fuel price index, which indicates a rise or fall in the fuel prices, remained unchanged at its previous week's level of 12.84 per cent, the data showed.
The annual rate of inflation declined at 12.62 per cent for the week ended June 11, 2011 as compared to 12.86 per cent for the previous week, the data showed.
The prices of rice, wheat and pulses has declined to 4.32 per cent, 1.82 per cent and -1.00 per cent respectively over the previous week level of 5.25 per cent, 2.32 per cent and 0.18 per cent respectively.
However, the prices of protein based-item such as egg, meat and fish rose to 10.56 per cent as against 7.31 per cent in the previous week while the milk prices has rose to 15.30 per cent for the week June 11, 2011 as compared to 10.59 per cent for June 4, 2011, the data showed.
The prices of vegetable items has decreased considerably by -9.27 per cent over -1.39 per cent for June 4, 2011, the data showed.
The prices of onion and potato has decreased to 11.89 per cent and 0.71 per cent over the previous week level of 12.17 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
